About the Event

The 2019 ‘Building a Better Community, One Step at a Time’ Walkathon encourages participants of all ages to walk 5 km in support of the Perth Children’s Hospital Fund, the main fundraising body and largest private funder of the Perth Children’s Hospital.

Seva, or selfless service to society, is a cornerstone of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. Volunteers drive the organisation’s efforts, dedicating a portion of their lives in selfless service of others, both in their local neighbourhoods and on a global scale. Working in five key areas, BAPS aims to express a spirit of selfless service through Health Awareness, Educational Services, Humanitarian Relief, Environmental Protection & Preservation and Community Empowerment. Our walkathon event aims to promote healthy living, engaging in the faculty’s of Health Awareness and Community Empowerment while furthering our spirit of selfless service in uplifting our local community. Perth Children's Hospital Foundation

We believe all children deserve a chance to live their healthiest and happiest lives; to be able to play and laugh with their siblings and friends; to feel safe and well cared for; to grow up and be whatever they choose to be.

This belief drives all we do.

We are the main fundraising body for Perth Children’s Hospital as well as the wider Child & Adolescent Health Service in Western Australia.

We also work hard to promote healthy lifestyle messages to support parents in keeping their children well.
